From EVE History
Imagemagick, the application that should do this on the server, isn't working properly. I'm looking into why it's going wrong, everything in the wiki i setup correctly. For that matter, to anyone who reads this, forum.eve-history.net should go public soonish, i don't see a reason why not :) //Reiisha
Can we have a guide to contributing? I am finding it very difficult to use this site as I have no idea how to add things to it. Please help.
Great site, but
It's a great site but why reinvent the wheel? I'd suggest you consider merger with the EVE Wiki, which already has a section on alliances. We will all benefit from one larger site then several smaller ones with duplicate info and with editors forced to chose between contributing to one. --Piotrus 11:29, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Reasons why not.
The EVE wiki is for actually playing the game, whereas this one is for it's player history. The subjects are vastly different, and the actual purpose of player organizations is a little different on there than it is here.
The EVE wiki deals with the here and now, whereas the EVE History wiki deals with the past untill now. Look at it this way - eventually there should be articles in here on how things used to work, something that would be superfluous and confusing to people on the other wiki. //Reiisha
- On a related note we could cross link. I can then delete the inappropiate ships section and link to eve-wiki instead.--> Starquinia 22:15, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Keep that section for now. I think it'll become more relevant in a while, at least to edit out the most contemporary stuff and keep the development. Reiisha 16:40, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I've put a forum live on forum.eve-history.net . It's pretty much final in it's form, people just need to register and start posting.
Why a forum? The discussion pages are good, but only for very specific issues. I find that a forum makes a discussion much faster, and puts less strain on the wiki, which is a bit slower if used as a means of communication. There's a reason why there's forums and wiki's, and not both in 1 package :) Reiisha 09:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
can we link this on the main page insead of having it hidden away in the discussion? Manic mole 22:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Not yet, i'm still waiting for a 'first few' to trickle in and start discussions - otherwise you'd get a situation where people see they're among the first 10, see or 2 posts and never bother with the forum again. The hardcore people can start posting a bit now, and when the forum has some topics in it i'll announce it proper. Reiisha 11:36, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
There seems to be a problem with the link, no matter if I click it or if I open it in a new window I get forwarded back to the Wiki. Or is it down for some reason? SciE 03:54, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
I haven't noticed any weirdness but I'm using the default skin. I noticed it was a bit wacky with one of the other skins so I went back to the default. --> Starquinia 11:52, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I haven't updated the front page because, to be frank, I don't think theres any quality articles out there. I've ringed a couple of possibles | here but they need a bit of work. The best is Bishop's but as its RP theres very little game content in it so I'm not too sure. (Plus he's Amarr so I have to shoot him on sight while rantng about slave ownership etc) :-D
- So any suggestions for tomorrow?-- Starquinia 10:50, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Just noting that I delete the last one from the list of previous featured articles so that theres never any more than 3. Its just a personal preference on my part but I think 4 or more start to look untidy. -- Starquinia 21:36, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
In that case we might need a page with the past articles... Reiisha 10:30, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Gonna hve to be delayed a bit since most of my free editing time is taken up by banning scripts :-/. ie, I dont think any of the candidates are suitable without editing. -- Starquinia 08:28, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I'll be taking some time to edit/choose the right article for November tomorrow. Apparently Opus is trying hard ;) Reiisha 11:40, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the spambots, does the registrations for this wiki require a CAPTCHA response? If not, that might be a good way to reduce the amount of spam. -- Pallidum 20:30, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
I have no idea what that means :P Catch me ingame or mail me so we can talk about that. Reiisha 11:15, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think its one of those things where you type in letters and numbers you see in an image.-- Starquinia 21:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Good idea, actually. I'll be rummaging through the weekend for some other candidates... Reiisha 02:23, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Glad you fixed the spacing, I could se it was out but couldn't work out what I'd done wrong.-- Starquinia 13:12, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
