Stardust Heavy Industries {DUST] was founded by a merger of the two corporations; Stardust Incorporated, which was led and founded by Terrek, and tAS - United Confederation. The founding members were Athanassos, Bidi Waymiller, Euron, Mescalito, PSEWAR, Stan Wenneseph and Terrek.

The first alliance DUST joined, before CONCORD sanctioned alliances were available, was the Coalition of Free Stars [CFS]. But CFS were just a loose bunch of corps, with no mission. So DUST left CFS and the Star Alliance (StA) was formed. They settled as resident alliance in Delve and fought their first large 0.0 fights there. The Owner-Alliance of the Delve region was just interested in profit, so an uprising of the resident corps started, which badly failed. The intrigues CFS attacked QDF (known as FIX as of 2007) and espionage in forums, TS-servers and selling of safe bookmarks lead to the end of the Star Alliance.

Back in the empire, DUST had a lot less ISK, but gained a lot of experience. Through a few good friends they joined the Xetic Alliance. Xetic owned a few regions, but was bureaucratic. The leadership of the Xetic alliance started a war, quit the alliance and founded ASCN. DUST stayed with Xetic and fought to the last ship in a war they couldn't win staying with their friends to the end.

Back in the empire, again with less ISK and more experience, DUST had enough of alliances and 0.0 space for the moment. DUST reorganized itself and introduced the divisional system, which stayed to this day. But the members missed the opportunity of the 0.0 space. Through contacts dated back to the founding time of DUST, they settled as resident in Fade. After months of defending Fade and producing goods, DUST became a member of Dusk and Dawn at the beginning of 2007.
