General Info
It's founders were a bunch of real life friends who lived in Australia. Their characters Temerlyn, Salgurdar and Cazaril formed the first BOD. We never had one true goal and instead decided that we could do anything we wanted to make our gaming fun. Out of the original three there is now only Temerlyn left as the sole CEO of the corp.
Our moto was simple, do everything and excel.
Our success is overwhelming:
- A portfolio of over 100+ tech 2 Blue Prints generating in excess of 4 billion isk profit a week.
- A capital ship program pumping out Dreadnaughts and carriers at a rate of 1 per 2 days.
- Mining efforts to produce 1-3 billion isk a week.
- Production of two Outposts making us one of the handful of corps to do so.
- General manufacturing and sales to produce a market deep in unexplored space to almost rival most empire markets.
- A capital fleet of 20+ ships within the corporation itself.

History of STK Scientific
As authored by Temerlyn.
I want to try and give people especially new recruits a sense of awe when it comes to STK Scientific.
Prelude, (Beta days)
When we first started eve it was me (Temerlyn), Cazaril and Salgurdar who started the ball rolling. We first played Caldari pilots, we all came from EQ and many there joined us during the beta test. Like all betas there we're character resets. During the last days of the Caldari pilots we we're in Caldari mining frigs trying to make a buck when a Rifter came and blew Salgurdar apart. In the last few hours we decided to do the same thing and just kill shit.
Then we decided to become Minmatar pilots, this was the last beta test before release. We had Yuzier as our base system we worked from. Soon later we had Buftiar as our main income system, it had Arkanor. During this beta test there was no manufacturing available. Also there we're no Cargo expanders available in Minmatar space and no highways. So a STK new recruit policy was to fly to Caldari space and buy a ships worth of expanders and ship them to Minmatar space, we made a lot of iskies with that.
Back then rats either didn't spawn or didn't agro ships, you could AFK mine a rock for 8 hours in a hauler. Then in the last week of the beta test ccp gave 12 corps the chance to test out a player built station, it was randomized and we as STK got one of the 12 stations. We plonked it down in Buftiar and proceeded to mine with a refinery and such in the ark system, 24 belts as well. We had cruisers by the end of the week .
The very last 24 hours was armageddon day, we we're given 500mil isk and everyone purchased BS's and started killing anyone who moved, Lagggo supreme at Ammold system that day.
The Start of glory
The early days of Eve were hard, we had noob ships and no ISK, no one was above 1 million skill points, no-one owned cruisers. Mining in less than 0.9 was deadly. Making ISK via tech 1 items was profitable.
From the get go we had goals set out, Cazaril had recruited friends from DAOC and they were part of STK in the early days. We also had recruited Deus from day dot as we sent the call out for fellow Aussies into STK.
Cazaril formed up the main STK shop and in the early days made the most ISK for the whole corp, but it isn't to say he didn't have help, many mined for his shop and eventually Sarum Prime became our shop location due to proximity to a School.
One of the dutch fellows ninjas mined ark for us while we built this shop up, i personally tried to utilize NPC killing as a supplemental income. in a frigate it wasn't easy.
We we're mainly Minmatar pilots except dues who was Amarr, i can safely reveal some of the initial dramas we had. Deus was a very solo player, he was trustworthy but had no corp direction. While the rest of us aimed to get our first cruisers he aimed to get his own ones. We all aimed to get ourselves a Stabber BPO, Deus aimed to get his own Maller. We finally got the stabber BPO and due to the solo ninja efforts of the dutch guys we we're able to build a good 10 stabbers for the corp. Deus on the other hand had lost 2 mallers. after those 2 loses he finally got the idea to come on board and help the corp get cruiser BPOs
Of course the next BPO was a Maller.
After getting a cruiser i was able to earn a lot of ISK, out of the 60 or so mill needed for the next cruiser bpo i earned 20mil of it from ratting. After that we learned the game really well, though we failed to do these earlier we still capitalized on them. One of the major things we did was head north to Outer Ring area and kill Guristas, they dropped named mining lasers that sold for 1 million each and almost dropped of every second ship. Within a couple of days we got the Caracal BPO. We continued to capitalize on this till the next patch changed everything.
During this time the uber gun was the 650 scout, was the rare drop of Angel NPCs. It sold for 5-10 mil as well but dropped less often.
Then came the first major patch...
Chapter 2, Goodbye Sweet Ark
After this patch, (it wasn't a named patch) all the high ends moved out of empire space. Thing is all of the pirate controlled spaces weren't changed, So curse etc had massive ark/bist/crokite belts. So STK embarked on what was the exodus to 0.0. We tried it all, we went north to what is now bob space or Fountain region, there we found more ark/bist but we ran into the people who started to claim the region. Sal and caz had a fight with some ships who out numbered them 2 to 1, cazarils hauler died, salg came limping out but from it all they managed to kill more ships than they lost including one of the cruisers they had, back then it was a major victory. Still mining wasn't to be had here.
Stain by now had formed, Fountain alliance had formed, and i believe venal alliance had formed (Cant quite remember). We had a run in with stain and considered them ass hats and as a result stain became off limits to us.
By this stage we we're trolling down south and decided to make curse our home. There was rich ores down here, i was able to kill ships and collect loot to make additional stabbers to fight with and had a lot of Fun. We continued onto our projects like the shop and me soloing NPC's for ISK. Soon we had many BPOs and was making a decent set of ISK.
m0o corp, ahh the infamous m0o corp. They ruled out of fear more than anything else. They blockaded choke points and no one stood up to them. They abused some exploits like leaving cans around gates to lag out warp in points. Curse region became there home.
One day when i was soloing out of J4UD system in curse it was quiet time so i had me some fun without any hassles. A lone m0o pilot was in system, he didn't bother me at all and we got to chatting, eventually he asked if i could make him ammo and i said sure. After that day i became friends with m0o. One incident i undocked and m0o started to kick my ass, 3 cruisers vs my 1, luckily back then you could insta redock. The news of my friendship hadn't spread but i talked with them and they realized i was a help, so they let me be and i was able to undock with them there. I spent alot of time under the umbrella of m0o in curse.
Still not all we're friendly and some shooting did take place with some peeps, buy m0o was never a static corp, they left curse and journeyed to different places.
m0o was one of the first few corps to get BS's, and the ones we first encountered. Back in those days when you made a copy of a BPO it was an unlimited BPO, no runs. So many people brought BS BPO and made back money selling unlimited run copies, m0o jumped on this and got a copy to make there BS's.
Back then there was no stacking penalties, so all ships fitted all low slots with damage mods out the wazoo.
Me, sal, deus and Cazaril decided to try and kill a m0o BS in curse, we didn't know, we died . We used sensor damps and back then we could sensor damp till they had a range of 2 k's. Thing is they knew this tactic and kept on warping in and out till we fucked up, which eventually we did and they we're able to kill us. No sig radius thing existed, 1 volley from a BS and a cruiser was toast...
Thus started the Battleship age.
The age of the battleship
And my first almost humiliation...
As STK we we're kinda behind the times on a lot of things and only got on them at the end, Still we managed to get to them before they ran their course. The 1 mil mining lasers was an example, many we're doing it when they sold for 5 mil a pop.
Battleships was another example, but we got there eventually. Our first foray was when the corp had a whopping 150mil isk, we needed a little more and i could fly a tempest. with much reasoning and begging i was able to convince that me having the first STK battleship would be the best investment we could make and it was (before anyone thinks differently)
By this stage all the high end ores we're now moved out of 0.0 npc controlled space so only true 0.0 had ark/bist. All belts that had high end had all high ends so Zydrine wasn't as expensive. So ark was the main ore. We found many systems within 15 jumps of a station for refining. And useing my Battleship and some others uber mining skills we managed to mine a decent amount of high end ores.
With the ores and such and cruiser sales we purchased a Dominix BPC, again they had no limited runs, or licensing as it where. So we we're able to make domi after domi, they we're a popular ship as they dealt well with mining and we're cheap in the long run. Also they sold for 90mil each, with this we we're able to buy a second BPC and that was the geddon bpc, geddon wasn't the best choice as many others had brought it and the market was flooded with them as it was then the uber cheap combat BS.
My almost shame... me and elaw (old school corpy) we're tanking/mining out of XS-K10. it was 5 am when i was doing this and i was tired, i don't fall asleep at the keyboard. But my comp is in my room and i thought i might have a quick lay down on my bed while i tanked. I woke up with 10% structure, and managed to warp out of the belt and live, so yes i copped it that day )
Our first true BS BPO
After much deliberation we decided on the scorpion BPO and it was one of the best choices we could make. This also happened around the forming of the curse alliance. This became our worst and greatest period of time. We got the scorpion BPO 10 days before, what is referred to as, the licensing patch. In this patch BPO's earned the limited runs. All prior bpc's would still stay as unlimited runs. So when we got the BPO we put it strait on copy, deus put the copy runs at 20 runs, all copies made prior to the patch stayed as unlimited copies. We managed to make 7 copies before GM's stopped it, each sold for 250 mil to 200mil towards the end. not to mention the amount of Scorpions we sold.
Back then no stacking penalties either, so a scorpion was an uber shield tank, 8 mid slots full of hardeners made for almost 100% resists, scorps we're known to tank 10 bs's and capacitor power relays gave a -% to shield recharge instead of the -10% shield boost. Shield boosting was the king. From the sales we got the raven bpo, both BPO earned us 2-3times there isk in value, from here the rest of the BPO's we're but a forethought...
then the licensing patch hit...
Licensing and Curse
Love em or hate them curse made a name for themselves. We we're going to be part of curse cause we helped form it.
It all started with a Spanish corp who we got to know, they helped us and we helped them fight pirates in curse, m0o corp was in the north and making that area a semi permanent home. This corp wasn't BS enabled so we helped them build their first BS. They told us of other corps who we're also interested in being part of this informal secret alliance. The next corp to join this chat channel was VOTF. Xirtam and me chatted at length about issues and gained each others trust, they gave us 150mil towards the scorpion bpo on the proviso they got the first BPC, which we did and gave them the bpc.
The problem STK faced was after the patch the bugs we're huge, NPC were displaying incorrect distances and as a result they killed many ships we had, sal and elaw we're 2 major losses by this stage fed up with the constant bugs, deus and Cazaril had stopped playing as much and there was as little as 5 people on at any one time at max. When xirtam invited 7 corps to the forming alliance is when we lost alot of players. I lost focus on forming the alliance to see what to do with STK. We pulled out of Curse alliance cause we basically we're no longer a corp.
Through this we entertained the idea to merge with some one else. We had a lot of people approach us and frankly none of them we're up to our standards. Lastly we were approached by (cant remember name will get later) the CEO actually said to us, why are you even considering a merger, you should stick it out, join Xetic and you shall prosper. This also came with the help of one player Ma/Pa bohica, he alone solo mined for the corp when i wasn't noticing and mined so much that i couldn't ignore the corps strengths, we had some of the best people in eve around, and was soon to get more..
And with that we joined...
Not long after that we had Bagger, badfish, and the rest of jump gate industrial join our ranks, and we managed a few other recruits and another merger. We we're able to pull ourselves out of the lack of players slump.
then came the reign of Xetic...
Xetic, the mad cow
Xetic, curse, fountain etc all had it easy back in this time, lack of player numbers and choke points. Alliances could control a lot of space without needing to police it.
Xetic had this luxury. Xetic wasn't based on any pvp ideal. the ideal was that we we're at peace with everyone no matter the cost. Xetic was a commercial state that developed into a democracy of the worst kind, decisions took to long to get made, meetings took forever to do, a judicial system for dealing with crimes was setup and crimes so minor we're made to use this system.
Xetic had a lot of corps who used Xetic space to get rich.
We had become friends with DDC in the early stages of Xetic, we weren't quite ready to move down fully. Me and several others got acquainted with PVP fighting corp 1, we had some of the best fights in that time. We accidentally killed of a DDC hauler thinking it was a pirate, after that was handled we became good friends with DDC. We all hunted corp 1 a lot. We formed the providence channel to get together a lot of the corps who used the Esa to 0.0 route to help defend it against pirates.
Eventually STK migrated fully to Impass, we took home in 68ft, z-n and fr-b this was prior to the release of POS's. We enjoyed the time here, tech 2 started to come out around this time as well. We weren't any match for the Tech 2 might of x traders but we managed fairly well.
All was going well, Curse alliance we're our friends and SA we're kept on a leash. Then one day a battleship of curse alliance was flying through Xetic space. As policy decreed none of the alliances could use our space to fly ships through. SA and CA were at war. A Xetic ship destroyed the curse alliance apoc and this started the long road to destruction of Xetic.
When the wars got into swing i invited DDC and 4 horsemen into Xetic as we needed more PVP might, they bypassed the stupid system in place and helped defend Xetic. But with this came greater cracks, many corp believed DDC we're here to solely defend Xetic, for nothing, something that they couldn't do alone.
Celestial horizon was also invited to Xetic before the war started and started to become a large corp inside Xetic. they become another stalwart defender of Xetic.
People started to get sick of Xetic, to much crap and nothing was being done. It showed that a democracy in Eve just does not work.
Weather Cyvok planned it or other factors we're involved is a thing of the past. Looking back on it now it was the right thing to do. DDC and CLS brokered a deal with the 5 (Formally curse) and broke from Xetic forming the ASCN, STK was always considering breaking away and this is the truth, i performed back door convo's with DDC about such a thing. In short when the meeting took place to form ASCN it was guaranteed CLS didn't want us due to our vocal nature inside Xetic against CLS and Cyvok. DDC we're our friends and wanted us in ASCN. In short thanks to DDC we stayed in ASCN. After that we let our actions speak for themselves.
From here our history is more known, minor things have happened since all these events, thing i have forgotten as well.
We have a lot of power, we are small in numbers yet outperform corps twice our size. Our logistics is paramount and our tech 2 ISK production machine means we will always be ahead.
