Outer Ring

The Outer Ring is a region located in the west of Eve, being north of Fountain and south west of the Cloud Ring.

As of November 2007, Outer Ring is apparently occupied mostly by alliances based in Russia and other areas of Eastern Europe. During peak playing time in those regions, Outer Ring can be quite dangerous, as there seems to be a war raging between the different resident factions. In particular, gates into the central system of 4C-BZX are often heavily camped during these times. However, during peak U.S. playing times, the region seems mostly quite, with few ships roaming about and 4C-BZX mostly free of obstacles.

There are no direct connections between Outer Ring and Empire space. If approaching from Placid, the route through Syndicate is especially dangerous, with many gate camps. On the other hand, the longer route through Cloud Ring (via Alsavoinen) is often unoccupied, especially during late night weekday U.S. playing times.
