Omist is located in the southeast of the EVE universe. Tenerifis is to the North and Feythabolis is to the West.

History

Omist was originally controlled by the Xetic & Immensea Federation [XIF] (Later known as simply the Xetic Federation), who held the region along with Immensea, Tenerifis, Feythabolis and Impass up until Mid 2005 when The Coalition captured the region during Xetic's war with The Five. Shortly after, Omist was captured by Ascendant Frontier, who held it for only a short time until it was handed peacefully to Stain Alliance during the Stain Civil War, who lost it to Stain Empire. Lotka Volterra secured the region in early 2006 after Stain Empire withdrew back to Stain. LV began filling the region with tenants. In mid 2006, Standings issues forced Lotka Volterra to form an alliance for unaffiliated tenant corps, this alliance was called Distant Star Alliance and survives to this day, even though Omist is no longer in Lotka Volterra's hands. In early 2007, 'Red Swarm Federation' (a coalition between Goonswarm and Red Alliance and Tau Ceti Federation) removed LV from Omist and opened the space up as part of it's Free Trade Zone initiative. On May 18th 2007 the Band of Brothers launched a major offensive in the region, thus beginning another period of war for Omist.
