Ingenuity

Ingenuity [8WIRE] was a short-lived corporation, created by former New Zealand Eve Alliance [NZEA] members specifically for applying to join the JQ Alliance in lower Syndicate. The application was successful and 8WIRE was assigned to share the IOAB-R system with fellow JQA members Caldari Technological Division [C-TEK]. However, internal squabbles over mining rights led most of the corp to choose to merge with another JQA corp Unforgivn [UFGVN] in November 2004, only a few weeks after 8WIRE was established.

The "Ingenuity" name and 8WIRE ticker were both conceived by Ben Derindar. Part of the idea behind dissolving the original NZEA was to leave the New Zealand name behind, but still retain the connotation in the new corp. The name refers to "Kiwi ingenuity", a local real-life expression for the unique creativity that many New Zealanders are said to possess, able to make almost anything out of "number 8 wire", a fencing wire used on New Zealand farms.

8WIRE is now effectively closed; its only remaining members are no longer subscribed to the game.
