Evolution [EVOL] is one of the oldest active corporations in EVE.

It is also probably one of the most militarily successful in EVE. EVOL's CEO is SirMolle. Some of the members in EVOL have been playing online games together for the past 8 years.

Evolution was formed right after the EVE beta as the "release version" of TAOSP. Prior to being a founding member of Band of Brothers, Evolution was a founding member of, and the primary military arm of, the Fountain Alliance. During EVOL's time in the FA, the FA itself was led by a council of CEOs of which SirMolle was the de facto head.

Intentionally focused on PvP, EVOL would eventually cross paths with the first version of m0o in what would become a long history of continuously expanding warfare. EVOL's presence in the FA, and m0o's presence in CA was likely one of the core reasons why the FA and CA became opponents. Several of m0o's former members are now with EVOL or the other BoB corporations.

In time, EVOL would cut ties with FA and relocate itself near the Venal region. This allowed EVOL to play a prominent role in what was, thus far, the largest and longest war in EVE: the war with the now defunct Phoenix Alliance, also known as the Great Northern War.

As with all BoB - or any other - high profile corporation, Evolution is able to passively recruit and be selective about the members it accepts, a luxury many cannot afford. This ensures that they are able to maintain a high proportion of active and experienced pilots.

Evolution took the side of House Sarum in the Amarr succession and one of its members, Deathwing, almost destroyed the battleship of Doriam Kor Azor in an ambush attack during the coronation ceremonies.

Evolution is a large corporation due to the incurable obsession with forming strong friendships with other groups of players and eventually absorbing them into the corp. Almost half of EVOL's current membership used to be past opponents. It can be argued that the formation of BoB is partly due to EVOL subconsciously trying to keep itself from becoming as large as the Amarr Empire.

EVOL still intends to finish its long awaited EVE-based CG movie. The latest reports are that it will be done soon^tm.
