Dusk Blade History

The Inventors

Dusk Blade was the brainchild of Taila Nhrodda and Jmanis Catharg (Jman). Prior to the formation of Dusk Blade, Taila was Jman's sidekick, providing hauling, mining and scientific support to Jman, as well as salvage and cleanup during Jman's pirate hunting and service to the Caldari Navy, in exchange for a cut of profits.

Jman had recently left his previous alliance, having struck his first billion isk. Hardened from his journey into the heart of the States most feared outlaws, the Guristas Pirates, he turned to the Okkelen Constellation to continue service towards Caldari State. Here, he discovered materials related to (the recently publicised) Inventors career. With an investment of his small fortune into a Data Interfaces (250 million at the time, plus 250 million for the skillbook) he turned out some T2 Heavy Missile Launcher blueprints. Unable to manufacture these, he turned them over to Taila, whom quickly manufactured these to return over 800% on material investment, rocketing back the funds Jman had invested. Within a week, approximately 70 T2 Heavy Missile launchers were manufactured at 1 million ISK and sold on the market for an average 8 million ISK.

The Discovery

Whilst collecting materials for the next batch, Jman noticed something. A component of these missile launchers, Quantum Microprocessors, were manufacturable at a substantial profit, around 33% of material investments. Knowing Taila possessed the skills to manufacture these, the material costs of Invention were further reduced. Further, these were manufactured at a rate faster than what could be used, with the excess being sold on the market.

Over time, the fruits of Inventors saturated the markets. Further scouring of the market revealed similar stories in different arenas. Invention was fast taking over as the new cost-effective way to obtain T2 goods for the man with idle isk. The time had come to sell off the Data Interface before their numbers became too common (prices had dropped to 150 million by now) and the market too saturated. Without the data interface, only one thing remained: Quantum Microprocessors. Taila increased her focus here, investing in more resources to maximise turnover. With the demand of these goods increasing as more and more inventors swamped the markets, profits fast shot over 50%.

The Birth

By now, Taila had broadened her horizons to include other lines of Caldari Tech including Magpulse Thrusters, Gravimetric Sensors and Caldari Shield Emitters, and the ISK began rolling in. Then one day a young charismatic Vherokiorn introduced himself as Kylar Renpurs, a Nuclear and Plasma Physicist of no small skill. Seeing the potential of a fellow industrialist bloom, he had taken it upon himself to capitalise on the situation. Taila was a stern sort, and lacked the people skills that other Caldari possesed. Offering his industrial skills to the pool and his voice and people skills, Taila and Kylar formed a partnership. Realising the potential of covering markets which Taila's skills failed to capitalize on, she was quick to agree.

The logistics of this agreement soon became apparent, with the financial services of Jman supplying goods, station cargo bay transfers became incredibly clumsy. It soon became apparent a corporate office was required. Committing the funds to register the business, Dusk Blade was formed by Jmanis, Kylar and Taila.

The Split

Kylar was familiar with Jmanis. A little too familiar. His reputation within the Caldari Navy preceeded itself, and Kylar couldn't help but wonder if this would detract from the potential growth of Dusk Blade. Kylar broached this topic, and for a while Jmanis was resolute. His funds saw the birth of Dusk Blade, and his influence within the Caldari State carried many benefits with it.

However, to capitalise on the markets most, skills across the races would be required, and some may be loathe to join in order to associate themselves with a "murderer of Gallente and Minmatar". So Jmanis stepped aside, leaving Taila to take up the role of CEO in his passing, on the condition that the proceeds of Dusk Blade were freely accessible to him, as his seed fund, to support his efforts towards the Caldari State and it's Navy.

With his reputation no longer burdening Dusk Blade, the corporation soon took on new apprentices, Jeramon Castro, a Gallente Engineer and capable scholar, J'nar Meetrich, an Amarrian noble taught the traditional sciences of Amarr, and Nikla Uthaan, an emotional and slightly depressed young woman with an uncanny knack for Electronics, learnt from an untold "encounter" with Guristas. These would form the mainstay of today's Dusk Blade.
