Historical
Cinnander [CLS] is the pilot in Celestial Horizons [CLS] who is attributed with starting the war between the Xetic Federation [XF] and the invading group of The Five [5], and Mass by destroying a Sigil industrial hauler piloted by Shredder [SHNR] at 17:42 on April 5th, 2005 in the KLMT-W system in Curse. On EVE-O Shredder claimed to be hauling a full load of Zydrine.
Stating this as the reason for the war, The Five [5] and Mass invaded Xetic Federation [XF] and this led to the eventual break off of Ascendant Frontier [ASCN]. Some (admittedly few) critics of the war have suggested that Cinnander was acting under orders with the intent to start the war and give Celestial Horizons [CLS] and Dirty Deeds Corp. [DDC] the excuse they needed to leave Xetic Federation [XF].
Cinnander today recalls that he fired on the hauler while it was blue (read: friendly) because Celestial Horizons [CLS] and Dirty Deeds Corp. [DDC] were already well into their plan to leave Xetic Federation [XF] and, after verifying with Krapz [CLS] (who was leading the fleet at the time) he considered the friendly standing an error and opened fire.
Contrary to the popular flash video by Killer8 detailing the event, Cinnander [CLS] was in a Thorax and his victim was in a Sigil.
In Celestial Horizons [CLS], shooting on a friendly party and causing diplomatic work for leadership is called "pulling a Cinnander."

This section is written by myself (Cinn), but please note the above section on the war was not written by me, although it is well done and I'd like to thank Ashis for taking it on himself to do this page, as well as the ASCN page too :)
Biography
I've been in Celestial Horizon Corp. all along. I came from Earth and Beyond and I was told by a friend from there, Waagaa, that CLS was where it was happening these days. Early on I was a miner full time however when I moved to 0.0 (Feythabolis) I gradually got involved in more than just mining, and eventually turned full time PvP with the coming of the Curse War (CA vs. XF). I doubt highly that you'll want to know much more so I'll keep it brief. I've stayed with the CLS PvP team since then and I'm now in CLS' sister corp, CLS-F which is where the majority of CLS' PvP talent now resides.
Today I am also the diplomat that oversees communication between the Ascendant Frontier alliance and the Angel Cartel faction, and as this probably reveals I enjoy roleplay aspects of EVE as well as the more physical stuff. My character is a somewhat sneaky former pan-border cargo runner who, despite his Deteis appearence, considers himself Gallente having been born, technically, in Gallente space to a Gallente mother. He is very liberal as you might expect and despises anyone who would impose restrictions on the more enjoyable aspects of life, such as making money.
On Starting a War
What I'd like to do right off the line here is apologise for how long this turned out, but I felt this was really needed for completeness (it was easier and preferable for me to explain it again myself, than try to explain all the details to Ashis), and because it is something I have wanted to do for a long time.
I'd like to clear up a thing or two about the whole killing a SNRA indy thing. At the time I was a PvP noob and had just been in my first large war in the Curse Region (Curse Alliance vs. Xetic). So, first off, it was actually an accident, overall. There, as the plea goes, 'must have been some mistake?'. Essentially what happened, as the above explains, is that I asked for permission to open fire on a target whose corporation was - at least so I thought - due to have their standings reset/set to negative. I can't remember exactly why but from what I recall there was something on the grapevine about a plan to attack us (us being Xetic at the time) which was being formed by a bunch of corporations among which was, I thought, SNRA. Either way, while cruising through Curse in the Thorax I encountered the soon-to-be confused Shredder and a couple of his friends moving in industrials between (I think) HLW and somewhere near CL-85V where we (CLS) were based from at the time. I recall a light escort, which probably explains my immediate flight back to CL-85V. Following my surprise at seeing these guys with positive standings (remember that as far as I was aware they were considered [potentially] hostile), I asked over Teamspeak and the conversation ran something like this:
Myself > Hey aren't these guys sopposed to be negative? Someone > who? Myself > SNRA, they're hauling stuff through here Someone > Yeah they should be minus 5 [example], blast them Myself > Sure? OK.
('Someone' was, I think, Krapz who was at the time one of the leadership of the CLS PvPers) Then following that, I laid waste to Shredder's sigil and got out of there quick. I didn't stop to check the can, so the claims that it was full of high-ends and that I popped/stole those that surfaced afterwards will have to go unchecked - I assume either SNRA picked it up or some other person did. Anyway I 'ran' back to CL-85V and on the way I recieved a conversation request from a Shinra member (probably leadership), which was blunt and essentially said 'well done, you started a war'. (So I, naturally, was like 'zomg x_x')
(Aside: It was so long ago I'm not recalling all the details here so this might be a bit off) What happened next occurred at a level largely above my head as I was just a grunt at the time. When asked by SNRA who gave me the order to open fire (or at least the permission), I told them that the order came from 'CYVOK, via Krapz'. This was not entirely true, and I could have phrased it better. What I meant was that at this point people knew what had happened and CYVOK was online, and had been rather more reassuring than I had expected. The 'CYVOK via Krapz' should really have been stated as 'CYVOK was intending you to be set as hostile, Krapz okayed me to shoot ahead of that change'. This statement was, I believe, the source of much of the later things that made it look like I was both going back on what I had said previously, and made me look like a terrible liar. So anyway, once that was done I sent a (rather overly formal) eve-mail to Shredder directly apologising. This naturally made it's way onto EVE-O fora within minutes, and I seem to recall that in the mail (which is on EVE-O if you wish to search for it) I stated things a bit more in line with how they are described above. Naturally amidst the cruel lashings of the forum whores and whatnot, this got construed to make it look like I was trying to dig my way out of a hole.
To cut the story down to size, eve-mails flew back and forth, and the war started, with [5] invading Feythabolis in force and putting Xetic between a rock and a hard place.
Thankfully for me, CYVOK and Krapz were (as I have said) a lot more supportive than I had imagined. Krapz told me essentially it was no problem, and pretty much offered to take the blame. CYVOK however went one further and said things in his own way; I can't remember exactly what was said but it was close to the tune of "They had it coming, don't worry, if we hadn't started it they would have".
And that ladies and gentlemen is the origin of one of the reasons people think Xetic and its descendants (ASCN) are backstabbers.
I realise that not everyone will be convinced that I'm not just trying to make excuses, but I have presented above the facts as far as I know them to be correct. I feel, somewhat conceitedly I'll admit, that I am among one of the few people - a group which would include Shredder and Krapz - who can offer the 'what actually happened' story. Furthermore I can, if you are willing to believe it, offer you (along with a Krapz, CYVOK and possibly a few forgotten others) the why it happened as well. Both are written above (I realise my writing style is far from perfect), and I hope that now the truth is out there people will be a bit less tetchy whenever the issue is raised.
This is, as far as I am aware, the most detailed telling of this tale, but if others involved are willing it would be certainly interesting to weave it in its entirety somewhere.
