Factual Information

Statistics

Band of Brothers [BoB] was the second (29.10.2008) largest alliance in EVE consisting of five primary corporations and eight minor ones; it had approximately 3,100 pilots.

Band of Brothers consists of the following corporations:

Core corporations

Secondary corporations

Goals and ambitions

BoB was arguably the most openly militaristic of the larger alliances. They had the public goal of taking over the entire universe, and promote themselves as having some of the best and most experienced (oldest) PvP pilots.

History

Founding

An extremely comprehensive summary of the history of this alliance, told from the perspective of one of the founding corporations (Reikoku) can be found here: Reikoku Stories. This section will be largely similar, though condensed and with (hopefully) more objectivity.

BoB in its initial form was comprised of m0o, Reikoku, and Evolution, and called themselves the Cookies, Cake and Pie alliance (CCP). This loose confederation was born during the Great Northern War, despite philosophical differences between RKK and m0o as a way of better co-ordinating their efforts against the common enemy. Initially this confederation was solely for the purpose of breaking up enemy blobs, but slowly grew closer knit as the pilots worked together more. Several things happened along the way; CCP decided that they did not like the potential confusion and requested that it be changed. Eventually the consensus agreed on the now familiar Band of Brothers. In addition, the corporations Arcane Technologies and later Black Nova Corp and Rough-Necks (formed from ex-m0o members) were brought into the fold.

After the conclusion of the GNW, the member corporations of BoB had less of a focus and acted more like seperate unrelated corporations, only coming together occasionally for conflicts such as that against Fade Union and Forsaken Empire.

BoB previously resided in Delve and was the leading alliance of the Greater BoB Community involved in the Great Eve War against the Northern and Southern Coalitions. During the age of Supercapital supremacy leading before the release of Revelations II in summer 2007 they successfully pushed Goonswarm out of Omist and contested Tenerifis. Since the release of Revelations II and the subsequent loss of Shrike's Avatar-class Titan the momentum of the war had swung back costing tBoB the regions of Tenerifis, Omist, Feythabolis, Esoteria, Paragon Soul, Period Basis and Querious. At that time they issued an evacuation notice to all former residents of these regions to relocate to Delve and Fountain, but at this time Fountain has been taken by BRUCE. BoB took the Catch region from the IAC in autumn 2007 but lost it in December to an IAC and Red Swarm Federation counter-offensive.

Recent History

BoB's end came as of February 4th 2009, when a rogue director in the executor corp aligned with Goonswarm and disbanded the alliance. Many of BoBs assets remained in unconquerable NPC stations and were seized. A Band of Brothers corporation has since been formed, rendering any attempt to create a new "Band of Brother"-named alliance impossible. All their former corporations had joined a new alliance called KenZoku.
