Origin

Insurrection

Founding members of Atomic Heroes were all part of Polytope - [PLYT], living in the Pure Blind backend system MI6O-6 as outcasts. The only blue relation the corp had was Forces of Freedom, sharing MI6O-6 with one of their member corps. After killing an IRON pilot in MI6O-6, IRON ordered Forces of Freedom to expell Polytope from MI6O-6. Sadly the Polytope CEO Heritor had not been seen or heard of for a month.

Polytope was unable to join Forces of Freedom as a member corp due to a long standing dispute with IRON. Talks were held with Forces of Freedom who said that they would be more then happy to take us in, be it under a different corp name. A vote was held and as such all the active Polytope members decided to start up a new corporation. Atomic Heroes was born.

Former Polytope recruitment officer Commander XXX was choosen to be the CEO with DrAtomic as co-CEO.

Naming

After having weighed multiple suggestions from real silly to offending the decision was made to go with the name Atomic Heroes and the still available ticker HERO. The name itself was suggested by DrAtomic who in his turn had made up the name as a youngster while playing the BattleTech style game MechForce [1] on the Commodore Amiga.

DrAtomic named his character after the dope related underground comic [2] by that name.

MechForce allowed to create yourself a fictional House, a House is basicly a racial allegiance or guild in BattleTech. When creating a House for himself he named it after his primary BattleMech pilot DrAtomic and added Heroes to it, leaving the Dr. part away. Thus was the name Atomic Heroes created.

Incedently the player behind the character DrAtomic owns a company with the same name.

Apocalyptic Raiders

Whilst in their 2 month probation with Maelstrom, the Atomic Heroes met a corp of similar size and spirit named Apocalyptic Raiders, albleit more experienced.

During the collapse of Maelstrom alliance and the attempted assault on the JQV constellation in Syndicate, APR and HERO came to terms to merge based on the similarities and attitudes of both members and leadership of both corporations.

Due to completness of the infrastructure Atomic Heroes had outside of the game in the form of a website and killboard it was decided that APR would merge into HERO. A vote was held amongst members off both corporations and both came out unamious.

The CEO of Apocalyptioc Raiders, Kaleesh, would assume the role of CEO in Atomic Heroes, with DrAtomic stepping down to directorship.

The Heroes joined Forces of Freedom and choose the system D7T-CO as their homesystem where they launched a medium POS as their base. It became clear early on that the system next door was claimed by a 0.0 pirate corp name The Jokers. During an alliance op in their first week the pos owned by The Jokers was taken down, yielding a large profit to both the alliance and participating corps.

Commander XXX did an excellent job at recruiting and so the corp grew to some 50 active members. In the mean while the Atomic Heroes pilots were tested hard by both newly formed Triumvirate and Morsus Mihi. Lack of alliance operations in the sense of organized pvp or at least pvp training caused lots of tension within the corp. An ultimatum was put out towards the alliance to get sorted or we'd move on. During the ultimatum Commander XXX and a few members secretly decided to roll alts and go pirating with them. Forces of Freedom being an anti-pirate alliance for what it was worth and Atomic Heroes members going pirate was something DrAtomic would not want to be associated with from a leadership perspective and as such he annouced to step down as director/co-ceo leaving the direction of the corp in the hands of Commander XXX. Commander XXX decided he did not want that kind of responsibility and resigned as CEO handing over leadership to Xyrex and left the corp the day after.

Forces of Freedom did not live up to their promises and as such a vote was held to pack or stay. The result was an overwhelming pack. DrAtomic re-accepted directorship under leadership of Xyrex and a search for a new alliance was started. Severum contacted some old Gh0st alliance mates (Polytope used to be a member of Gh0st) and after several talks we were accepted on a trial bases into Maelstrom and moved out to Immensea.
